About the Course
NEW REGULATIONS FOR CORONAL POLISH CERTIFICATION
This course meets all the requirements of the Dental Board of California for dental assistants to achieve the Coronal Polish certification (CP123).
This course requires an 8-Hour Infection Control Course and a BLS Certificate.
The Coronal Polish course includes 4 hours of didactic (Lecture) home study, 4 hours of lab/pre-clinical instruction on manikins at our Rocklin office, and 4 hours of clinical experience on your three patients at our Rocklin office.
The program outline for coronal polish includes criteria for coronal polish, plaque and stain formation principles, coronal polishing materials, and techniques for polishing adults, children, appliances, and orthodontic patients. The laboratory portion includes infection control review, operatory and material setup, and coronal polish practice on typodonts. Coronal Polish Certificate
This course is 12 hours. Upon registration, you will receive the course material via email, which includes a 4 hour didactic home study. On the day of the registered class, you will participate in an 8 hour in-person session. The first 4 hours will focus on lab training using typodonts. In the final 4 hours of the day, you will bring in three of your own patients, who are each scheduled to arrive at specific times: 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
